As fall approaches, we know that deer hunting is underway. Since Keiki is deer-colored, we bought her a bright orange collar to wear on our trail runs. Here she is sporting her new collar while stalking bees on our hummingbird feeder. Orange looks surprisingly good on her. We think she could be a cover model for Cabelas, if they put lab-mix-pound-mutts in their catalog.
We don't worry about Klemmy getting mistaken for a deer, but we got her a brand new hot pink collar just in case. Here she is, showing off her new threads and her adorable underbite.
To signal the season change, our autumn stonecrop is blooming. The pink flowers are beautiful. The hummingbirds have been flocking to them as well. I love living in a remote, quiet place, and watching the season change to fall. Now it is time to head out on a beautiful morning trail run with Chad and the girls in their bright new collars. I can't think of a better way to start a Saturday!
