Today Chad and I rode our mountain bikes out to the monastery that is tucked in the forest. We spot the steeple quite often from the Little Walnut trails, or while running on the Continental Divide trail, but we had never ventured out there before.
The ride consisted of a nice mountainous forest road with little traffic, which is the kind of terrain I like to ride on while on my mountain bike.
We savored the gorgeous views. I love looking in to the distance at layers of mountains. It amazes me every time.
Here is the entrance to the monastery. The monks that live here wear burlap robes with hoods. They are the real deal! It is neat that they are tucked away out here in the middle of the beautiful forest.
