I found this picture of myself in one of my first bike races a few years ago. It is fun to look back. I was riding for the local Idaho team called Goldy's, which was run by the legendary Brooke Blackwelder. Brooke still runs a bike team here; now it is called Tamarack. Brooke has always been a positive influence on my cycling. She is so caring and encouraging. Her passion is developing new riders. She has helped many female cyclists in Idaho get started in the sport. Since there were two Brookes on the team that year, that is how I got my nickname Little Brooke. People from Boise still call me that now which is funny. I like it though, because it reminds me of Brooke Blackwelder.
