Today we took a trail that we had never explored before! It ended up leading us straight up a mountain, to an old mine shaft. There are endless trails out our front door, and we have so many we still need to check out. The views on today's run were incredible! Here are a description of pics, starting with the top row (L-R):
1. Getting ready to run with Chad and the dogs. Klemmy and Miko were raring to go! 2. We ended up running up the face of a mountain to an old mine. Here are the three dogs on mine tailings. 3. I am not sure if this pic gives the steepness of the trail justice! 4. There is nothing like running on a newly-discovered pine-needle covered trail for the first time. Here is Chad leading the way. 5. A view of the Gila National Forest from the mine. 6. Right below it: an old house foundation along the trail, perhaps from the old mining boom days in Pinos Altos. 6. There was a really deep mine shaft. I did want to get any closer! 7. Awesome boulder formations along the way. 5. Looking down towards our house. You can see our neighbor's house in the middle of the pic. Looking down towards our home gave us a sense of accomplishment. 7. A funny sign when we came across the old mine that someone is trying to prospect in again. It reads, "Danger: Mine Shaft. Duh!" 8. A pic of the mountains we ran up, taken from our driveway. We went up the middle one in the distance. 9. Chad admiring Pinos Altos from the mine. That gorgeous view will be in my mind all day today!
