My adorable mom Cherie turned the big 6-0 this week! As part of her birthday celebration, I went kayaking with her on the Boise River. She is an avid kayaker...she took it up in her 50's. She has a cruiser kayak...no whitewater for us. It is an amazing way to be outdoors in the summer around here. Sometimes my mom hammers away on the water for a good upper body workout, but when we went, we took it easy and just enjoyed ourselves. My upper body is not used to much since I usually just pedal a bike. My mom gave me the easier-to-maneuver beginner kayak. Since she is such a pro, she took the more challenging advanced one out. Look at how cool my mom is...she even has trendy Crocs to wear when she kayaks.
